3b have been appointed principal contractor on the design and build of a new, large scale, gas to grid biogas plant in Moray. As you can see works are progressing well with the earthworks now complete and the reinforced concrete works now well underway.
We have deployed all our own plant, formwork and labour to the project in order to meet the very demanding programme and not have any risks associated with external reliance on subcontractors. This strategy of having all our own plant, formwork and operatives ‘on touch’ is enabling us to be far more productive and deliver ahead of programme

New Apprentices Kick-start Careers
Three joinery apprentices have started on the company's training programme. The students - Liam McCracken, Adam Greenhill and Leon Sangster - attend Dumfries & Galloway College and are all from the local area.
Stuart Barr, Director at 3b construction, said: "It's important for firms to make a positive contribution to the places in which they operate. That's why we set up the apprenticeship scheme.
But it's not just good for the community, it's good for the company too. Providing opportunities for young people to succeed in the workplace provides us with fresh talent which drives our business into the future.
In Liam, Adam and Leon, we've got three youngsters with a passion for the industry. They've made a positive start and we look forward to helping them learn a valuable lifelong trade with us."
Leon said: "I'm so glad I decided to give an apprenticeship a go. It's a great way to gain experience on the job and quickly develop new skills."

Two undergraduate students have gained an insight into the diversity of careers at 3b construction by participating in the company’s first summer placement programme.
Having spent three months working on site with one of our Civils teams, Graeme Hoodless is returning to Heriot Watt University to begin the second year of his BEng in Civil Engineering. Graeme said: “The placement has helped give me a strong foundation for my future career. It gave me a great insight into the day-to-day work of the team and has motivated me as I begin the next year of my studies.”
Rachel Owen, who spent three months in our busy Port William office, is returning to the University of Glasgow to start the second year of her BEng in Product Design Engineering. Rachel said: “The placement has gone really well. It’s given me the opportunity to learn about the realities of working in the industry which university can’t teach. Working alongside experienced professionals has been an invaluable experience.”
Stuart Barr, Director at 3b construction, said: “3b construction is committed to nurturing the next wave of talent and hope our summer placement programme offers a taste of the breadth and depth of careers in the company. We have been impressed by the calibre of students and will look to build on this in the coming years.”
